2015…The year of YES!

Guys, it has been a year. I told myself (and many friends) at the beginning of 2015, this would be the YEAR OF YES, at least as far as my business was concerned. (I know that Shonda Rhimes has since stolen my catchphrase, but that just means I was on the right track.)

And I said yes. To just about everything that came my way:

I made a website for a client.
I did a boudoir shoot.
I photographed my first birth and fell in love with it!
I took so.many.headshots.

I attended and photographed my first bar mitzvah! There were food trucks and safari animals and DJs and it was totally insane.

I very quietly started a wedding business with a good friend … more details coming in 2016!!

I began writing and photographing for Eater Denver, fulfilling a long-time goal of mine to use my inner fat kid to make money.

I took a bunch of senior portraits and thoroughly enjoyed it! I was thrilled to be asked to volunteer for an event here in Denver, Senior Snap, for seniors who earned scholarships for their portraits!

I also took two of my favorite photos of the entire year, both of my little sister and her growing family. One was while my new nephew Everett was still a bun in the oven and the other after he was out in the real world.

I wanted to say YES in 2015 so I could fully explore my interests and maybe confirm in some ways what I don’t want to do. That said, 2016 will be a year of paring down and organizing my work into cleaner, more manageable buckets. It will also hopefully be a year of focusing on what brings me and my clients the most joy.

Thank you, to each and every person that invested their time and money into this year. I have met so many amazing people and gained many friends through Green Chair Stories. I pray that this continues to be the spirit of my business and I’m thrilled you’re all along for the ride!
