One of my very favorite things about being a photographer is staying with families through seasons of life. I photographed the Nichols family twice last year: once for a maternity session, and again after little Mav was born.
Now, Maverick is a little roly-poly ball of smiles and I can’t believe it’s been almost a year since he arrived! I love watching kids grow and families change. It was so fun to go back to their home and see them in this new phase of life.
Rory was just as fun and rambunctious as I remember and she makes the rest of the family laugh constantly. It’s also still easy to see how much Ryan and Becky love their kids … the kept sneaking hugs and kisses throughout the session.
Something I’m trying to do more of is getting parents alone for a couple shots in each session. So often, they haven’t been photographed alone since their wedding day! Those photos always end up being some of my favorites and this one was no exception (see below).
Thanks, Nichols family, for letting me be a continuous part of your lives in this way. It means the world to me!
(This shoot was my Best Afternoon Ever option, which means I photographed this sweet family for several hours. I offer these sessions to clients who live anywhere, even outside of Colorado. I would LOVE to chat with you about your family’s Best Day Ever.)
