Though I went to college with both Adam and Lisa, I didn’t get to know them well until five years ago. I saw them at my new church in Denver and I thought, “Are those people from Messiah?” It turns out they were and they became some of our very best friends in Colorado.
We were so sad when they accepted jobs back in Pennsylvania and told us they were moving. Excited for them, for sure, but still sad. Of all places they could go, Pennsylvania was the best because we knew we would still see them (and we do!).
Shortly after they moved, they got pregnant with little Miss Evie, clearly the star of this show. And now, they are expecting baby number two!
On this last trip home, they drove from Philadelphia all the way out to Lancaster County so I could snap a few family photos. It was beautiful all day long but as they pulled into my parent’s driveway, the sky turned almost black and rain poured down. A little alarmed, and frustrated for them, we let Evie play with the toys while we tried to figure out what to do.
15 minutes later, the sky opened up and the sun started shining! I couldn’t believe it. And then there was a beautiful rainbow as well. We couldn’t have asked for better light and I’m so thrilled we were able to capture these!
Evie is such a bright light, an amazingly happy little one. And I can’t imagine parents who love harder than these two. It is a sincere joy to watch them together.
Thanks for making the drive, Northam family, and we CANNOT WAIT to meet your sweet little girl the next time we’re home!
