The best kind of shoot is one where the family comes to you with ideas. Kylie loves to bake and the kids like to help her in the kitchen, so they decided to make cookies as a family. When I walked into the kitchen and saw the supplies, I just knew we were going to have some fun.
Each child had a rolling pin from one of their grandmothers—I think kitchen utensils that last through generations are amazing tools to pass down. But the kids weren’t sentimental about it quite yet as I think the icing held most of their attention. I was so impressed by the way Peter and Kylie let them go to town.
Flour and sugar and icing and sprinkles were everywhere and the kids loved it. They got to lick the icing right off the spoon (or right off their finger in some cases). After decorating cookies, little George needed an outfit change and then we ate cookies and went on a walk through the neighborhood.
We laughed throughout the whole session and had a great time together. The kids had such a distinct sense of humor and it was easy to see where they got it from. Thank you, Snows, for inviting me into your home! I had such a great day with you guys and I hope to do it again soon!
